Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about PeakFilm highlight reels.

What sports does PeakFilm support?

PeakFilm currently supports basketball and soccer (football). Select your sport during upload. American football and other sports are in the roadmap.

What video formats are supported?

MP4, MOV, and AVI — up to 10 GB. Phone footage works perfectly. No need for a broadcast-quality camera.

How long does it take to generate a reel?

Typically 5–20 minutes depending on game length and server load. We'll email you when it's ready, so there's no need to keep the tab open.

How does the player tracking work?

PeakFilm uses a YOLOv8 object detector and BoT-SORT tracker to follow every player on the field. You identify your player once by tapping on them — then we track them for the rest of the game using appearance embeddings (a kind of AI visual fingerprint). Every time the tracker loses them (camera pan, crowd block), you confirm once more, and the AI re-learns the look.

What if the wrong player appears in some clips?

The tracker can occasionally follow the wrong person — especially in dense crowds or when players have similar uniforms. If this happens, use the Re-run reel button on the done screen and add more confirmations in the Confirm step. More confirmations = higher coverage = fewer wrong-player clips.

What's the difference between Social, Recruiting, and Full Game styles?
What are the Horizontal, Vertical, and Square formats?

Vertical and square are center-cropped from the original footage.

Can I generate reels for multiple players from the same game?

Yes — upload the same game video again (or re-use the uploaded copy), then identify a different player. Each reel is processed separately.

How much does it cost?

The first reel is free (includes a small PEAKFILM.AI watermark). After that, it's $4.99 per reel — a one-time charge, no subscription. Paid reels have no watermark and you can download the MP4 and keep it forever.

Is my video stored securely?

Videos are stored on our servers only as long as needed to generate the reel. You can delete your data at any time using the delete option in the app, or by emailing privacy@peakfilm.ai.

What if the reel has no clips?

This usually means coverage is too low — we couldn't track your player long enough to find highlight moments. Add more confirmations in the Confirm step (aim for 10+), then re-run the reel. If the scoreboard isn't visible, or the game has no crowd audio, the system relies more heavily on the player's movement — so confirmations matter more.
